Overview
The Animal Control Unit is staffed by five full-time Animal Control officers, one Animal Control Supervisor, and one full-time office aide/dispatcher.
Animal Control officers are tasked with enforcing County regulations as they pertain to dogs and cats, as well as state laws regarding cruelty to animals. These officers conduct investigations to ensure pets are kept in a humane manner, receive proper food, water, and shelter, and are not allowed to run at large in the community.
Cruelty and or Neglect
It takes a village for a safe humane community. You may report violations of the Calvert County Animal Ordinances, Cruelty, Neglect and general welfare concerns by calling Calvert County Animal Control. Your call may be filed as anonymous.

Animal Control Hours
The Animal Control Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The normal work hours for Animal Control Officers are 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. daily.
An Animal Control Officer is available after hours on an emergency on-call basis.
